Registration

While registration for the workshop is free of charge, you must buy a ticket for the concert*. Registration will be at the entrance to the museum, on a first come first served basis, until all places are taken (75-100 people).

This workshop takes its inspiration from Eduardo Chillida’s work “The Music Door”, which stands on the grass in a park in Santiago de Compostela.

Maushaus proposes a workshop where the numbers are a door or beginning of the universal order serving to establish equality, symmetry and, ultimately, the aesthetics of proportion always present in Chillida’s work. Music and sculpture combine in this workshop paying tribute to the sculptor on the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Materials: Jumbo cardboard tubes of different sizes, sheets of cardboard, straws, envelopes, model people, ties, paints, rollers, branches and glue.

Programme

1st part (11:00 – 11:45)

After a brief introduction beside the large tree in the Chillida Leku garden, the participants will make small musical sculpture models.

2nd part (11:45 - 12:30)

Using what they have learned in the previous activity, the participants will build large-sized structures, as doors or thresholds offered by the park’s garden landscape.

3rd part (12:30-13:30)

Now the resulting structure built by all the participating families will join the other sculptures in the Chillida Leku park to be enjoyed by all visitors.

This workshop is part of the 12.Txikijazz event.
