Arima Soul System: Lidia Insausti & DJ Makala

Arima Soul is the musical project born in 2020, created by Mikel Unzurrunzaga Schmitz, known artistically as Makala and/or DJ Makala, and singer Lidia Insausti. Their proposal is a mixture of styles such as Soul, Funk, R&B, Disco and Jazz-Groove. Their live shows are very flexible: they adopt many possible formats, and one of them is the duo called Arima Soul System, where veteran DJ Makala plays musical bases, with awesome singing from Lidia Insausti over all that. In their direct shows, they mix fare from their own repertoire with classic themes, as well as more way-out stuff from the music they adore, which delighted audiences lap up.

Jazzatik: DJ Makala & Alex “Sax” Haro

DJ Makala is the initial creative force behind Jazzatik, a platform/group from Gipuzkoa. It also is a musical podcast specialised in contemporary Jazz, which airs through the Entzun.FM portal. For this special occasion, the Basque DJ will offer a selection of avant-garde Jazz with Alicantino musician and Musikene graduate, Alex Haro, on sax.

DJ MAKALA

Mikel Unzurrunzaga Schmitz, better known as Makala and/or DJ Makala, based in Zarautz (Basque Country). Has worked, since the 1990s, as DJ and radio host; also is a versatile musician, remixer, music producer and music events promoter.
