Elkano Browning Cream present their latest album, Eup! (2021), their sixth to date. Once again, Mikel Azpiroz, Karlos Arancegui and Dave Wilkinson unite their varied musical and cultural roots with suggestive expressiveness, combining the Hammond organ with the guitar and drums. Although their style draws on Jazz and blues, it crosses borders with a powerful and hypnotic mixture of beats and melody, plying a sea of African sounds, Romani scales and psychedelic parentheses.

Since releasing their first album in 2007, the band’s career has been characterised by a multi-angular approach to music resulting in records that are rich in nuances, containing elaborate melodies with a strong rhythmic component. Coordinated by the pianist and organist from San Sebastián, Mikel Azpiroz, the band is completed by the drum player Karlos Arancegui and the British guitarist who lives in Barcelona, Dave Wilkinson. The three members boast interesting parallel careers, including collaborations with artists such as: Alpha Blondi, Saint Germain, Brian Jackson and Massive Attack, among others, and all this background combined with the band’s international and multicultural nature results in Jazz with a personality all of its own, eclectic and exotic.
