A night of awards at Trini
David Murray and Joe Lovano will receive the Donostiako Jazzaldia Award tonight at Trini square, whilst Samara Joy will take to the stage at the Kursaal.
Today’s programme begins at San Telmo Museoa with Bruce Barth and Vicente Archer. At Victoria Eugenia, JazzEñe presents the powerful performances of Noa Lur and Anggie Obin.
One of the most eagerly awaited concerts of the day is the performance by Samara Joy at the Kutxabank Kursaal; the six-time Grammy Award winner is performing at Jazzaldia for the first time.
The Trini festival kicks off with a star-studded evening featuring award-winning artists David Murray and Joe Lovano, accompanied by their stellar line-ups.
Keler Gunea will once again be buzzing with the sound of one of the leading voices in contemporary blues, Danielle Nicole. She will be followed from 11.30 pm by Ibibio Sound Machine, led by the charismatic vocalist Eno Williams and multi-instrumentalist Max Grunhard.
At Nauticool, there’s a triple line-up of DJs: Estrella Electrónica & Txuck Turner + Don Funkfarron + Afrodisia Club DJ.
In the afternoon, Frigo Gunea will host free concerts by Tremendo Piquete and Amphitrio, whilst at Fnac Gunea, La Ola Maldita and DJ Estrella Electrónica & Txuck Turner will be taking to the stage.
On its first day, Txikijazz promises to entertain young audiences with Yko Project (12.30) at Fnac Gunea, where there will also be workshops for children.
