About JazzEñe

JazzEñe is a SGAE Foundation programme created to internationally showcase the Jazz produced in Spain, to encourage the participation of Jazz bands in festivals, promote international tours for members of the SGAE and foster meetings and the exchange of experiences and knowledge among professionals in the sector (artists, managers, programmers, festival directors, record companies, etc.) from here and the rest of the world.

Following its first edition, held in Madrid in 2014, the event moved to the city of Valencia and later to Zaragoza and Málaga. Now in its eleventh edition, this showcase bringing the reality of Spanish Jazz to audiences and directors of European festivals will take place for the fifth consecutive year at the San Sebastián Festival, which, in its 60th edition, represents one of the great bastions of Jazz not only in Spain, but also in Europe and the rest of the world.

Work sessions with professionals

One of the main objectives of the SGAE Foundation is the internationalisation of the repertoire of SGAE members, male and female. To that end, among those attending JazzEñe are people involved in programming at Jazz festivals, Jazz fairs and Jazz halls all over the world, who are interested in getting to know the reality of the genre in Spain and who are invited by the foundation. In that way, all those professionals, male and female, get to meet the eight groups taking part in the morning sessions, to foster synergy, exchange knowledge and experiences, and reach agreements re collaboration, tours and the possibility of performing on international stages. To date, over five hundred Spanish artists have performed in other countries thanks to this SGAE Foundation programme.
