Six concerts to be held at Chillida Leku during the 60th edition of Jazzaldia
To celebrate its 60th edition, the San Sebastian Jazz Festival will maintain and reinforce events programmed for the Chillida Leku museum.
The collaboration between the festival and the museum continues. This collaboration has yielded very good results in the past and the museum will again be a key programming venue this year, hosting concerts in its truly exceptional setting, an ideal place for the merger of art and nature.
In all, some six concerts will be held here, among them two stand-out outdoor events in the gardens of the museum. On July 19, Bascolombia, the fruit of the union of two groups, Oreka TX, from the Basque Country, and Phonoclórica, from Colombia. On July 20, we will be able to enjoy what two piano geniuses, Iñaki Salvador and Marco Mezquida, have to offer, in their concert, dubbed Dichosos tributos.
For the first time at Jazzaldia, two concerts will be held at the Chillida Leku Zabalaga country house: on July 26, a concert by the quartet of the great flutist and tenor saxophonist, Lew Tabackin; and on July 27, another concert, by pianist and double bass player, Jordina Millà & Barry Guy.
To complete the concerts slated for Chillida Leku, the Festival will also include two morning concerts, for boys and girls accompanied by adults, as part of the activities programmed within Txikijazz: on July 25, British singer Claire Martin will perform, and on July 26, it will be the turn of the Basque group, Arima Soul.
A special parking lot will be opened in Galarreta, where private vehicles may park, and there will also be a free bus shuttle service from Galarreta to the museum for the concerts on July 19, 20, 25 and 26 (on the 26, this service will be provided only in the morning).
For the concerts on July 26 and 27, those attending will be able to park directly in the parking lot of the museum.
