Diversity, musical quality, and massive attendance
Jazzaldia has established itself as one of Europe’s leading jazz festivals thanks to its ability to bring together major stars, emerging talents, local bands, and a wide range of free performances. A total of 77 concerts were held across 12 stages, drawing a total attendance of 179,483 people.
The headliners—Diana Krall, Pat Metheny, Marcus Miller, and Samara Joy—lived up to their prestige and appeal with four memorable, sold-out performances.
European jazz shone brightly, with two artists in particular delivering outstanding concerts: Nils Petter Molvaer at the Kutxabank Kursaal Auditorium and Louis Sclavis at the FCC Victoria Eugenia Antzokia.
LP and Danielle Nicole delivered two outstanding performances at Keler Gunea, where Basque bands packed the beach and thrilled the audience with acts such as ETS, Kokoshca, Nøgen, and HOFE.
The magic, filled with a warm intimacy, was on full display during the matinee series held in the wonderful cloister of the Škoda San Telmo Museum, featuring five sold-out concerts.
The two tributes to John Coltrane were authentic and heartfelt; those to Miles Davis were simply spectacular.
Txikijazz has established itself as a must-attend event—a space designed for children where audiences of all ages have enjoyed four high-quality concerts in an intimate and interactive setting.
The Festival highlights the response from the audience, which turned out in droves for all the concerts and, once again this year, enjoyed them with exemplary behavior and without a single incident.
David Murray said that “this is the best jazz festival in the world,” and Joe Lovano remarked that for him it was “an honor to be at one of the best festivals on the planet.” The Donostiako Jazzaldia will continue working to ensure this remains the case, and for its 62nd edition—to be held July 21–25, 2027—it will remain committed to a festival that, without forgetting the past, looks to the present and future of jazz and other musical genres.

A total of 16,272 tickets were sold to buyers from 37 different countries, in the following order: Spain, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Australia, Switzerland…
We’ve sold out 15 concerts: 3 of the 4 at the Kutxabank Kursaal Auditorium, 2 at Trinitate Plaza, all 5 at the Škoda San Telmo Museum, 2 at the FCC Eugenia Antzokia, the 2 held at the Zabalaga farmhouse in Chillida Leku, and the one held at the Hotel María Cristina.
