Pleito

Alba Gil Aceytuno (alto saxophone, vocals, percussion)

PLEITO is the solo project of Gran Canarian-born saxophonist and composer, Alba Gil Aceytuno, one of the emerging voices on the new Canary Island music scene. In November 2025, she released loscoloresdelaspiedras, her first album under the alias Pleito. That record marks a particularly personal phase in a career that includes involvement in projects such as Aguayro, Gran Canaria Big Band, Rupatrupa, Zumurrud...

Live, Alba Aceytuno offers something that is intimate and experimental: she is accompanied solely by her saxophone, her voice, percussion elements and the use of loops and effects. Through techniques such as circular breathing, she serves up a hypnotic soundscape that moves freely between trance and liberation, combining contemporary Jazz, folk, electronic music, experimental music and singer-songwriter fare.

PLEITO’s repertoire is the natural fruit of introspection and proposes constant dialogue between the personal and the collective. From a contemporary perspective, the project reinterprets Canary Island folklore, reviving traditional melodies, lyrics and elements to forge new connections with the cultural identity of the archipelago.

El Gran Ra

Raúl Márquez (violin), David Sancho (piano), Fran Gayo (drums)

Violinist and composer Raúl Márquez presents El Gran Ra, a project that taps into the world of the circus as a starting point for giving shape to a repertoire of original compositions. The show draws on the original soundtracks created by the artist for the Teatro Circo Price, Madrid, and pays tribute to the art of the circus and its ability to reinvent itself.

Each piece is inspired in the figure of a circus artist and the creative world of that artist: from extraordinary trapezist, Pinito del Oro, to the unforgettable, Charlie Rivel, clown extraordinaire, through the likes of the great Othman, an acrobat who is simply beyond compare, and the genuine fakir, Daja Tarto. Great legends who have left their mark on the history of the circus.

Márquez is joined in this project by two excellent musicians with complementary styles: pianist David Sancho, with his open and contemporary approach; and drummer Fran Gayo, whose rhythmic versatility helps to create a dynamic and expressive sound.

The result is an ensemble that combines narrative, evocation and interpretative freedom, with the violin at the centre of a constantly evolving soundscape.

Raúl Márquez is performer, studio musician and creator all rolled into one. He has, over the years, been part of, and composed for, various renowned dance companies, such as the Nuevo Ballet Español, and soloists such as Sara Baras, Manuel Liñán, Antonio Canales, Joaquín Cortés and the Nuevo Ballet Español, as well as soloists such as Zenet, Jorge Pardo, Joaquín Ruiz El Cigala, Pasión Vega X… with whom he has performed on the most prestigious international stages the world over.
