Enrico Tomasso & Ignasi Gonzalez Duo
Note
The concert will take place inside the Zabalaga farmhouse.
Enrico Tomasso (tumpet, vocals), Ignasi Gonzalez (double bass)
Enrico Tomasso began playing the trumpet at the age of five, after hearing Louis Armstrong perform ‘Basin Street Blues’ (1964), and at seven was already playing for the man Satchmo himself. He maintained that friendship with the genius from New Orleans till his death. Tomasso is considered one of the finest classic Jazz trumpeters in the world today and was recently honoured at the British Jazz Awards, where he received the Best Trumpet prize.
Ignasi Gonzalez began his professional career in 1987 and soon developed an interest in Jazz. He has, since then, collaborated with countless musicians, of the calibre of Jesse Davis, Joe Magnarelli, Grant Stewart, Houston Person, Scott Hamilton, Benny Golson… With his firmness of attack and a style deeply rooted in the tradition of the great double bassists of the world of Jazz, he is, unsurprisingly, a highly sought-after musician.
