Amphitrio is a contemporary Jazz trio out of Romania whose music is a blend of modern Jazz, Nordic lyricism and Balkan intensity, and not devoid of heavy metal and electro-groove influences. Built around original compositions and a highly expressive ensemble sound, the group has performed internationally and established itself as one of the most prominent outfits within the new generation of Romanian Jazz. Their latest album, Timelines (2024), was named Album of the Year by Radio România Cultural.

With a strong multidisciplinary focus, the group frequently collaborates with orchestras, vocal ensembles and visual artists; so it is constantly expanding its creative universe. This collaborative approach is rooted in curiosity and respect for multiculturalism, a philosophy reflected in their 2024 international tour, What Freedom Sounds Like, which was supported by the Romanian National Cultural Fund. With three albums and numerous collaborations in their career so far, Amphitrio is one of the most recognised voices in Eastern European Jazz.
