Considered to be one of the most innovative and ground-breaking voices of her generation, Mariola Membrives has made her mark on the Spanish music scene for her unique ability to combine flamenco, Jazz and roots to bring a fresh artistic proposal with the stamp of a deep-lying personal identity.

Over her career, she has reaped numerous awards including the Córdoba a escena, the Time Out for best national creator and the Altaveu Award. This year she presents her project Ajuares, a set of four 6-song EPs, one for every season of the year, with the collaboration of top-notch musicians from the Spanish Jazz scene.

At Jazzaldia, she will perform in a duo format alongside Andalusian guitarist Gon Navarro, trained at the Berklee College of Music and the Newpark Music Center.

Acclaimed trumpeter Rubén Salvador fronts this group born at Musikene, the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country. R.S. Basque Faktor has participated in several Jazz Festivals including San Sebastián, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Salamanca and Burgos, as well as having featured on numerous concert programmes billed at Jazz clubs, concert halls and theatres throughout Spain, receiving exceptional reviews from the specialised critics and press. Their three albums, Starting (2022), Akúfeno (2016) and Equanimity (2022) have notched up awards including the BBK Jazz 2012 for Best Basque Jazz Album, and have played on the country’s most prestigious specialised radio stations and podcasts.
