Scofield Holland Duo + William Parker Quartet
John Scofield - Dave Holland Duo
John Scofield (guitar), Dave Holland (bass)
Two musicians, Scofield and Holland, guitar and bass, friends who have followed their own paths, sometimes running into one another: both were part of the Miles Davis band at different times; they coincided on the Miles Davis tribute album So Near, So Far (Musings for Miles) (1993); they were members of the ScoLoHoFo super group with which they toured on several occasions and recorded the album Oh! (2003).
Now they join forces once again to bring a new conversation, a musical dialogue in duo format, performing original compositions of their own repertoires together with a selection of Jazz standards. A coming together between two giants of contemporary Jazz, two singular musical minds who continue to inspire Jazz musicians and aficionados all over the world, who promise a concert packed with magical moments, artistic prowess, virtuoso renderings and accomplished improvisations.

Over his career he has worked with legendary names including Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Gary Burton, Tony Williams, Jim Hall, Ron Carter, Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Terumasa Hino, Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden, Eddie Harris, Medeski Martin & Wood, Bill Frisell, Brad Mehldau, Mavis Staples, Government Mule, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano, Phil Lesh…

Eri Yamamoto
Japanese pianist and composer Eri Yamamoto moved to the United States in 1995. Today, following regular appearances on the New York scene, she is considered to be one of the most singular and original executants of her instrument.
The last three decades have seen her perform in the New York circuit, in Japan, Canada, Africa, Jamaica, Australia and in almost all of Europe, alternating the big festivals with clubs and smaller spaces.
At the Jazzaldia we have been lucky enough to enjoy the visit of Eri Yamamoto’s elegant and evocative music at two editions, in 2019 with the Easo Abesbatza choir, and twice in 2023, with her trio and solo on the piano.
Rob Brown
North American saxophonist Rob Brown moved in 1984 to New York, the city that saw him evolve as an instrumentalist fully focused on the field of improvisation.
His collaborations with William Parker are numerous and span a variety of projects. He has also worked with legends including Cecil Taylor, Anthony Braxton and Reggie Workman.
